About Chantal - Author

I am from Canada but Malaysia is my second posting as an Expat – our first was in Cape Town, South Africa. We have two sons – our eldest is 22 years old and is at University in Montreal, Canada. Our youngest child is 13 and lives here with us in Malaysia.

We have now been living in KL for 5 years and we could not be happier. We love the city, the people, the food, the social life, the easy travel and the cultural experience. I was proud to be President of the Canadian Association of Malaysia for 2 years and enjoyed welcoming new comers to the city, showing them around, answering their multitude of questions and helping them find their feet.

This is a great place to live and I’m excited to be able share my knowledge and experience with you in my Expat Insider Guides to Kuala Lumpur.

  1. :

We just arrived in KL last week and have downloaded the Arrive and Survive Guide.
It’s spot on. It’s been really helpful in explaining how to find our way around, where to buy the things we need and ways keep our toddler occupied – the indoor and outdoor playgrounds listing is perfect. I did not quite realize quite how much petty crime there is in KL so am very glad of the practical security advice. I am really glad I have this guides and I know I will be referring to it everyday for months. Its worth far more than than the $20 we paid, I strongly recommend it to anyone moving to KL.

  2. :

The Arrive and Survive Guide is excellent. We are arriving in KL in a month and I have read it all through and I am so impressed with how much it covers. We have relocated 3 times in the last 10 years and I now feel the most prepared I ever been before a move. We are going to be able to hit the ground running in Malaysia.
